City of Tallahassee to settle two claims over $ 100,000 for backup sewer, error error – WCTV

Tallahasee, Florida (WCTV) – Talahassi City is expected to resolve two claims at the City Commission meeting on Wednesday for a reserve copy of the sewer and a mistake in usefulness.

As the claims exceed $ 100,000, the agreements are not confirmed until they are voted by the elected City Commission.

The first incident included a reserve copy of the sewer on July 14, which left the damage to Grace Church of Talahassi and Baard Stern, according to James Floyd, a senior assistant to the city prosecutor.

“The reason for the reserve copy of the sewer was confirmed clogging in the baseline caused by the roots of trees and other products that caused the backup copy in the church of the grace of Tallahassee Daycare Center and the adjacent residence of real estate owned by Bayard Stern,” Floyd wrote in Subject on the agenda subject.

The backup copy causes the “significant damage” of the kindergarten establishment. City employees recommend arranging a $ 142,000 request, which includes both the damage to the church and the damage to Bayard Stern.

The second incident included the city that accidentally included water on January 7, when it had to turn power. In the other proposed agreement, the contractor asked the city to include electricity in Koddoplex.

Instead, the city turned on the water, causing a flood.

“The next morning, it was found that the wrong communal program was linked, which caused a flood of three of the four units and significant damage over the legal amount,” Floyd wrote in the Commission’s materials.

If approved by the committee, city employees will be allowed to pay up to $ 200,000 to the New Karma LLC, the general contractor.

Both proposed agreements were approved by the Committee on Supervision of Liability. This is the first step before the full approval of the committee, which is expected on Wednesday.
