On Wednesday, February 12, the Talahasi City Commission will hold a budget meeting to vote to approve two settlements against the city.

The first includes property damage to Grace Church of Talahassi. According to the city prosecutor in July 2024, the main sewer line in the city was clogged, causing a backup. This backup extends into the church of the grace of the Talahasi Children’s Center, causing significant damage inside the facility.

The city offers settlement costs of $ 142,000. As the total amount of damage exceeds $ 100,000, the commission members must vote to approve the amount.

A city lawyer says the second agreement includes property damage including new karma; Referring last month that a general contractor had asked the city of Talahasi to connect the electrical power to Kadrukplex that he was repaired. Instead, the city connects water instead of power, causing a flood of up to three of the four units.

Following the negotiations, the city prosecutor says a sum of $ 200,000 has been reached.

Once again, as the total amount of damage exceeds $ 100,000, the commission members must vote to approve the amount.

The meeting is on February 12, starting at 15:00 after seminar at 13:00
