City of Irving launches internet and cell service surveys open through Nov. 22 – Irving Weekly

The City of Irving is inviting residents to participate in two surveys aimed at gathering insight into the availability and quality of Internet and cellular service in the city. The surveys, which began on October 21, 2024, will help city officials assess the current state of these essential services.

Residents can complete two short surveys: one focusing on internet use and the other on mobile phone use. Each survey is expected to take approximately five minutes to complete. Participation is open to all Irving residents and community members age 18 and older, with polls close November 22 at 11:59 p.m

Although surveys are available online, a random sample of residents will also be contacted for telephone surveys. The data collected will be used to inform potential improvements to the city’s internet and cellular infrastructure, possibly leading to funding opportunities for further upgrades.

Once the surveys are completed and analyzed, the results will be shared with the Irving City Council and made publicly available online.

The city of Irving partnered with Finley Engineering, a national technology firm, to conduct the studies. This initiative is funded by the CARES Community Development Grant Act (CDBG-CV).

For more information about the surveys, residents can contact Benny Boysen, [email protected].
