City of Birmingham with a request for property to be declared public inconvenience – Birmingham Times

The city of Birmingham announced the office of the city prosecutor filed a lawsuit against short -term leasing property on Monday.

The Director of Communications for the Rick Mayor Traveler said the lawsuit was against Infinity Investments LLC, the owner of 828 fifth St. West. The lawsuit is also filed against Jabari Ayinde Mosley, which the city believes is managing the property.

The city asks the District Court of Jefferson County to declare the property a public trouble. The city claims that single -family home is used as a short -term leasing rent when there is prolonged criminal activity.

“We will not accept the owner of a property that exposes the residents and business to a constant threat against public safety,” said Birmingham lawyer Nicole King in a statement. “When violence and drugs threaten public safety, it is important for the city to intervene to violate the activity, to keep criminals responsible and to make our neighborhoods more fascinating to residents, businesses and visitors.”

The court claims that the property and the property manager did not hide short -term tenants. The city claims to have received complaints about the property, listening to residents and business, who have expressed concern for their safety.

The city lawyer created the drug reduction team and the inconvenience in the spring of 2020 to keep the landowners through the courts responsible for being clean and without criminal properties. The city stated that the team had succeeded in various court cases and worked with property owners for a more fucked environment.

Those who want to communicate as an inconvenience of property in Birmingham are asked to send an email to the City Prosecutor’s office or to call 205-254-6450 from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm
