CIF-SS playoffs: Roosevelt’s Basketball Team for Boys is No.

The Basketball Basketball Playoffs with CIF Southern basketball have always been a glove.

The trip will be even more difficult this season as the open division has been expanded to include 10 teams, two more than previous years.

The selected 10 teams are placed in two pools based on their final ranking during the season. There will be five rounds of pool game, with teams playing four games and having one bye. The teams that end in each of the two pools will play for the championship of the open division later this month.

Roosevelt is # 2 seeds and will have an advantage of the home court for each of his pool games. Mustangs will host games against Heritage Christian (Wednesday), Redondo (February 18), Sierra Canyon (February 21) and St. John Bosco (February 25). Roosevelt’s bye in the second round (Friday).

Roosevelt, last year’s runner-up of the Open Division, already has victories this season over Redondo (78-74) and St. John Bosco (56-55 in overtime).

The 1-5A divisions are played in a single elimination format with all the first round games scheduled for Wednesday.

Four teams inside were placed in Division 1 bracket based on their final ranking.

Rancho Cucamonga is # 4 seed and opens at home against. Crown del Mar. Other opening Division 1, which includes interior teams, are St. Paul in Ethiyanda, Vista Muruta in Los Alamitos and Damian in Anaheim Canyon.

Seven other basketball teams of inner boys received first four seeds in their relevant playoff divisions.

Chino Hills is No. 2 seed in the 2AA Division Bracket and hosts Job Linda in the first round game.

Linfield Christian is # 1 seed in Division 3AA and opens at home against Sunny Hills.

Summit is the best seed in the bracket of Division 3A and host Ambassador Christian in the first round game. Aquinas is sown # 4 in Division 3A and opens at home against Pasadena Polly.

Elsinore is # 1 seed in the 4AA Division and hosts an Adventist in Newbury Park.

The Santa Rosa Academy ranks third in Division 4A and opens at home against Vali Tora.
