Further: show costumes, for testing competitions, help to fill the inventory at the Chesapeake FSC of the growing program for rent of Maryland.

The Figure Skating Club of ChesapiIK’s President of Maryland Jody Timins remembers when Terry and Alicia Jackson closed their skating shops born to skate. They asked Timm if she would be interested in any of their stocks.
“Of course, I said yes,” Timins said. “As a coach and skater, I knew how long it takes each piece to create, the cost of them and the cost of buying them for new ones. The idea of mobilizing and helping skaters was born to find the perfect outfit. “
And so began the Chesapeake FSC of the Maryland clothing rental program.
“The rental program is a way to help our members make their skating budgets to continue while saving time and shopping for money,” Timins said. “The club members can choose from more than 100 pieces of skate clothing, from brilliant wear and tear to practical clothing for testing and accessories of some of the cost of buying a new item.”
Each item is measured and listed on the website of the skaters club to view and book for their next test, competition or exhibition. The rental fees are only $ 20 low for three weeks.
“The funds are back in support of the club and the construction of our selections,” Timins said. “This program also helps reduce disposable clothing and reduce waste.”
The club’s Vice President Sabrina Sichess-Trinton helped Timins in cataloging, measuring and organizing the ever-increasing collection. Social Media President Maggie Rarivin has built lists and categories on the club’s website so that members can see what is accessible and to save time to try things.
The process of hiring skating clothing is simple.
“Members can browse and choose their items from the numbered equipment on our website, and then fill out the interest rates for rent to create a date to try them at our home slide, Ice World in Abingdon,” Timins said Timins S
Members sign and pay for their hire when he experiences if he fits. The club’s inventory is available for three -week rental periods and returns to the club, not on or before the date of their maturity.
“Then we take care of cleaning and return the subject to the inventory. Each item is $ 20, and our members can rent as many pieces as they would like. Clothing items also come with a clothing bag. We accept payments through Venmo, cash and checks and work so that we can accept other forms of payments, “Timins said.
Skaters use the rents for everything-from initial level testing at the club’s home slide to performances and exhibitions in the Middle Atlantic region.
The skating families also joined by donating the program clothing.
“We have parents of retired skaters who drop the objects that skaters are just growing,” Timins said. “I’m still constantly looking for new items to buy and donate to the collection. As we grow, we hope to add even more elements and especially build our boys, male and unisex collections. It is exciting to see what pieces the next ones come. “
Timins notes that skaters and parents are excited about this new clothing opportunity.
“Skaters had a lot of fun trying to find the right piece instead of online and expensive designer pieces. As we all know, skating can be an expensive sport, so the resource helps to keep our skaters on the ice for a long time, helping to stretch their skating budget, “Timins said. “It also removes many of the assumptions for skaters when it comes to special events. They are more able to concentrate on their event instead of worrying what they will wear. “
This club is happy to share its unique program with skating families, striving to start offering boots and blades.
“To the best of our knowledge, we are the only club in our area, perhaps the country that is doing something like that,” Timins said. “We are proud that we can offer this unique bonus to our members and their families. Although not online, we also have a small collection of blades boots that we offer by giving one. If Skitter overcomes their skates and we have a size that fits them, we ask the skater to donate their old skates. “
