In a matchup between undefeated teams in the district, Chase County emerged victorious 54-6.
Madison got the first score of the game when Colton Isch rushed into the endzone on a 17-yard strike with 4:39 left in the first.
Luke Budke tied the game on the ensuing kickoff, opening a 70-yard punt.
Chase County found themselves with momentum after the touchdown, using it on a scoop and field goal by Chris Rangel to go up 12-6 with 3 minutes to play in the first.
Budke found the end zone on a 36-yard strike to end the first quarter 18-6.
Each team struggled to score in the second before Wyatt Griffin gave Chase County a 26-6 lead with a nine-yard run.
Wasting no time to start the third quarter, Griffin found Budke on the first play of the second half with a 39-yard touchdown pass.
Madison’s turnover led to another quick score when Griffin found Landon Doty in the air to make it 42-6.
Griffin would find Budke and Doty again before the game ended with a Doty touchdown with 9:54 to play in the fourth.
Griffin finished the night 5/7 passing for 97 yards and 75 yards rushing for five total scores.
Griffin credited his head coach for getting the game plan right.
Madison falls to 5-3 and will face Cedar Vale-Dexter.
