With a dominant offensive performance, Sioux Falls Christian Chargers demanded a 70-48 win over Yankton Bucks in boys’ basketball actions on Monday night at Yanton High School.
Ciou Falls Christian was driven by Griffen Goodbari with 22 points. Goodbari scored his 1000 point in the career in the competition.
Also, for Chargers, Carson Nickles and Cooper Goodbary, they finished 11 points. Cole Snyder is 10 points for chargers.
For Yanrton Carson Ness finished with 16 points. Beck Recker scored nine points, and Abe O’Brien is eight points.
Yankton opened the score in the first quarter with three index finger from Ness. Yankton led the score in the first quarter, ranked in many triplets in the first minutes to give Bucks an early lead 9-4.
Chargers pulled away with the arrangement of Snyder, Bennett Wassenaar and Cooper Goodbary.
Yanrton answered with Cohen Baskets and Ness with baskets to close the quarter with 18-12 leads above the charges.
Sioux Falls Christian came hot in the second quarter, telling four undeniable baskets to open a quarter. The Nickles triplets allowed Chargers to ask for a presenter, 19-18.
Yankton’s Owen Eidesness drained three index finger to tie the score, 21-21.
With just over four minutes in a quarter, Chargers restored the front with Snyder basket. The charges lingered for the rest of the quarter thanks to multiple baskets, holding Yankton, without a result of the rest of the quarter. The Nicholas Trive allowed Siou Falls Christian to enter the half, leading 38-21 over Bucks.
“I thought we were competing tonight and started well.” Janctor chief coach Chris Haines said. “The biggest thing tonight was that we didn’t take care of the ball in the second quarter.”
Nes collected Bucks Baskets to open the score in the third quarter.
Griffen Goodbary and Cooper Goodbary added baskets to strengthen the Chargers lead.
Yankton answered with baskets from Ryken and Zahrbock.
Both teams were fighting baskets throughout the quarter. Chargers maintained a stable lead to close the third quarter leading 50-38.
The charger crime remains dominant in the fourth quarter with multiple Grifen Goodbary baskets. With six minutes on the clock, Chargers continued eight points.
Bucks pulled away with a pair of O’Brien triplets. Eidesness collected an extra basket to keep the insult alive for Yanton as the clock was winding.
Bucks gathered, but Yanrton was not a match for the Christian crime of Siu Falls. Ryan Dileman basket sealed the Chargers deal to take the game, 70-48.
“Sioux Falls Christian is a really good team. They are extremely difficult to guard. I thought that in half half … we did well both offensive and defensive. The bottom line is that we just didn’t take care of the ball well enough to win. “Said Haines.
Sioux Falls Christian improves to 18-1 and travels to face Tri-Valley on Friday. Yanton drops to 3-15. The host of Bucks Spearfish at 7:30 pm on Friday and host Douglas at 15:00 on Saturday.
“We have to treat this weekend, as if this is the playoffs … We will probably have to win both Friday night and Saturday afternoon to continue and turn it into the after -season.” Haines said.
Sioux Falls Christian won the game of JV, 64-55. For Yankton Eidesness, he collected 11 points. O’Brien finished with 11 points.
Yankton won the sophomore match, 66-47. For Yancton, Grady Walder is 20 points. Tegan Lacrea collected 16 points.
