Chargers Draft Target Preview: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State – Bolts of Blue

It’s no secret that the priority in Jim Harbo’s regime was to establish a running game to ease the pressure from the hand of the franchise defender Justin Herbert. The NFL 2025 draft is going back, which would be a complete dynamo in the Harbo offensive system, but the question is that the team will move up to pick it up and pay the price for a position that has recently been underestimated. If a back in the recent memory is worth it on the day of the draft, it is Ashton Gunts of Boyz State.

Haisman’s finalist had one of the best seasons to run in the history of the Broncos College History and gave the impression that he would be one of the more productive and gifted backs at the next level when he entered the NFL 2025. Last season, Jeanty carried the load , carrying the ball 374 times for a huge 2601 yard and finding the end zone 30 times during the season. Jeanty was the clear engine of this crime, in which every defense knew he would get football, but there are zero answers on how to stop a powerful and balanced runner.

In practice, there is no chance that Gianti will fall into the tours of charges later in the first round, especially after the recent reinforcement of the importance of the position thanks to Sakun Barkley. If Los Angeles really wants to make a statement to shift the dynamics of this crime, they will probably have to move up into the top 10 of the draft, which can be quite expensive for a position that is not an apostate or edge. However, given the restoration of the position and the ability to get a fresh leg superstar to enter and be a cornerstone for a violation for the next decade, one must at least take into account the costs and risks. Maybe not more suitable for Jeanty than Chargers, it’s just the question if the team is ready to pay the price to make it work.
