Lubbock, Texas (October 24, 2024) – The Lubbock Christian men’s basketball team has announced its 30-game schedule for 2024-2025, featuring 22 Lone Star Conference games and 12 contests at the Rip Griffin Center.
LCU will open the season in Canyon, Texas on Nov. 1 in the D2CCAA Tipoff Classic, facing Missouri Western and St. Cloud State. The Chaps will follow that with two games at The Centennial State against Colorado School of Mines and Regis.
The first home game of the season is also the first conference game of the season as Lubbock Christian hosts St. Edwards to begin a four-game homestand – one of only two of that length on the season. In league play, the Chaps will play 22 games, facing each member of the West Division twice and facing each team from the East Division once.
LCU’s final two non-conference games of the season will come just before Christmas break in Las Vegas, where they face Western Washington and Montana State-Billings in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.
The LSC Basketball Tournament will be held March 7-9 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The eight-team pool includes the winners of the East and West divisions, who receive automatic berths, with the remaining qualifiers and seeding based on results against all LSC teams.
The Division II men’s basketball championship begins with regionals March 14-18 on campus and continues to the Elite Eight March 25-29 in Evansville, Indiana.
The Chaps were slated to finish third in the preseason conference poll with four first-place votes. Only No. 1 West Texas A&M and No. 2 Dallas Baptist finished ahead of LCU. The Chaps are coming off a 23-11 season in which they advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional in Canyon, Texas. LCU was an LSC tournament finalist and 16-6 in conference play (10-4) in the West Division to finish second in the division.
