Wausau, wis. (WSAW) – Broadway Classic makes its way to Wasau, but with a local twist. The Central Wisconsin Children’s Theater will debut its production of Les Misérables February 14-16. It is distinguished by an acting staff filled with adult high schools, eager to show their talents for the last time.
For some, the production is more than another show.
“This is my parents’ favorite show,” says Nolan Travis, Senior Senior Wassau West, playing Jean Valjan. “I remember watching the movie when I was more a junior and I thought,” Aunt, I could do it. ” Now it happens. “
Along with him is Wesau West’s collaborator Nolan Muller, who plays Inspector Javer. Not only do they share a name, but also a strong stage relationship.
“It’s nice to have someone on stage you know you can play,” Mudler said. “[We’ve] I had so much experience in doing different characters [together]… I know what makes him tick and he knows what makes me go away. “
The cast also includes students from Beyond Wausau West, such as Catherine Harmon, Jr. at DC Everest, who plays Cosette. She emphasized the joint spirit of production.
“If you have seen any other municipal or school shows in Wasau, you will recognize people from these productions that are gathering for this,” Haron said. “This will be the show you want to see.”
With the final rehearsals that participate, the cast focuses on refining every detail before taking the stage at the Venga Theater on Valentine’s Day.
For Travis and Mull, Les Misérables represents the tip of their time with CWCT.
“[I’m hoping for] A smooth transition from the rehearsal space to the scene, “Travis said.
“This is probably the best production we have participated in,” Travis said. “We are incredibly grateful for our time in the program.”
As for their directors, they are just as excited for the community to see what they are doing.
“We sit there and get chills every night when we are in rehearsals, we look, we stop, because it is like a god, it will be really good and I think it will be really, really good,” said director Randy Hansen.
“Every rehearsal from the first to our last rehearsal last week, they all tried things, applying every note we give them. You can feel the excitement they had from the beginning, “added vocal director Abby Fox.
