CCSD celebrates its namesakes: Theron H. and Naomi D. Goynes – CCSD Newsroom

Theron and Naomi Gines are longtime leaders in the North Las Vegas Community and strong advocates of education. In 1964, Goyneses moved to Las Vegas and began teaching at the CCSD school district.

Mr. Gines spent twenty years in City of North Las Vegas, Nevada – Municipal Government Tip, twelve of them as mayor Pro Tempore. It is claimed to be the first African-American selected in the history of Nevada to lead a government body. During his career in Clark County, G -N -Gines served as a teacher, advisor, coordinator of adult education, assistant director and director.

G -Ja Gines is known as an inspiring teacher who served as a kindergarten teacher, reading specialist, dean of students and assistant to junior high school schools.

Theron H. and Naomi D. Gines opened in the summer of 2005 in the summer of 2005.
