Richmond, WWBT-The medical examination service has determined the cause of the death for the 12-year-old boy of Virginia Beach, which was found dead in a pond on Monday.
According to the WveC, on Wednesday afternoon, the chief medical examination said the cause of Juan Sebastian Meja Asevedo’s death was an accidental drowning. They did not provide more details.
Amber Signal was issued on Friday after Asevedo was reported to have disappeared.
Later on Monday afternoon, police confirmed that the body found in the lake was Asevedo.
According to Virginia Police, Asevedo’s family has received demands for ransom through social media.
This prompted the police to treat the case as a kidnapping and reported amber on Saturday morning.
