Case updates to be released today after five killed in Sampson Co. last year – WITN

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) — A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday morning to announce charges and arrests related to the killing of five people at a Sampson County home last year.

In October 2023, five people were killed in a Sampson County home off Garland Highway outside of Clinton.

Killed were Alfonza Jeffers, 73, of Clinton, Dagoberto Lopez, 33, of Garland, Hector Lopez, 39, of Garland, Lamar Williams, 58, of Rose Hill and Jamie Rowland, 47, of Clinton.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has announced a reward of up to $10,000 a week for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting deaths.

The press conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m

U.S. Attorney Michael Easley Jr., Sampson County Sheriff Jimmy Thornton and other state and federal law enforcement are expected to be there.
