Wilmington – Carol Hendrix sellers, known as “Bubby” by their grandchildren and others, went to Jesus on January 22, 2025, after a long battle with dementia.
Born in Robson County, North Carolina, on April 19, 1944, Carol later returned to Wilmington, where she became a favorite part of the community.
Carol was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great -grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a bizarre, insatiable reader and a master gardener, with a natural ability to cultivate both plants and relationships. Her faith in Jesus was unwavering, and one of her most prominent memories was walking in Jerusalem, following his footsteps. She was glad to travel with her family, whether she was traveling with the Caribbean with her husband, skiing on the slopes of France, or creating magical memories with her grandchildren at Disney World.
Known for its boundless grace, loyalty and kindness, Carol was an unwavering presence in the lives of those he loved. Once prepared, it was the perfect companion for any occasion – be it an adventure trip, shopping, church service or quiet moments on the front veranda planting flowers.
Carol was preceded by her parents, Sarah Barlow Hendricks and William James Hendricks, her beloved husband Donald Archie Sellers and her sister Cherry Hendrick Allen.
She survived from her loving daughters, Donna Sellers Wichman (Steve) and Susan Seller Johnson (Laurent); Her sisters Jet Hendricks Smith and Patsy Hendricks Jenkins (Dean); Her hidden grandchildren, Gloria Fich Kudisio-Haidon, Elizabeth Smith Hanson (Stephen), Mary Nel Johnson, William Transk Johnson and Gabriela Lyons Kudicho; Her great -grandmother, Elizabeth Hendrix Hanson; And many beloved nephews, nephews and great-players and nephews.
Although we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we find comfort, knowing that he is with Jesus now, he reunited with her husband and their beloved dog, Ruby and dance in heaven.
A private family memorial service will be held this spring.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made to reduce the rescue life of Cape Fear in her honor.
