Capan is preparing for home debut in the Phoenix Open waste management – 12news.com kpnx

Frankie Capan III won state titles in 2017 and 2018 at Northwest Christian. This weekend he played in WM Phoenix Open for the first time.

Scottsdale, Ariz. – He was an essential element of TPC Scottsdale as a teenager.

He is now preparing to play the course for the first time as a professional in a tournament setting.

Favorite fan Frankie Capan III returns home and will make his debut for the waste management Phoenix Open.

“Going home, staying in the place of my parents for the week is nice,” he said.

Capan cited the tournament as a “home game”. This is the first time a long -time visiting scenario.

“I would go out almost every year with my father from 5, 6, 7 years until I was 13 or 14 years old,” he said.

A trap was born in Minnesota, but was attracted to the desert and her year -round sun. His family spent the school year in Phoenix and his success at high school in northwestern Christian became a legend.

“Obviously, I was able to shoot this famous 59 to close my senior year in the state and get w,” he said.

The 59 were the back of the individual state titles in 2017 and 2018 for Capan. As he prepares to enter him to people open, he says these moments are still in his mind.

“Just tying with the team and the coaches is something I look back with many kind memories,” he said.

Creating new memories is his mission now. He tries to create his own advantage at home by offering as many tickets to his supporters as possible.

He is unlikely to need, given that he has played TPC Scottsdale over 20 times.

Still, he hopes that his home weekend can connect him to his local loved ones.

“I have many friends and family who go out this week and appreciate the support,” he said. “I’m just trying to see as many people as possible while I’m here.”

The trap has spent the last two seasons in the Korn Ferry tour. This is his first year as a PGA member.

He has played in three events so far in 2025 and has made the abbreviation in each of them. Its best final was the T-12 three weeks ago at La Quinta Country Club in California.
