(Gray news) – Some tuna brands sold in stores such as Costco, Kroger and Walmart are recalled due to a package error, which poses a risk of botulism, a potential fatal form of food poisoning.

The US Food and Drug Administration says Tri-Union Seafoods voluntarily recalls many canned tuna products selected under Genova, Van Camp, Heb and Trader Joe brands.

The avid products were distributed in various stores, including Costco, Publix, Kroger and Walmart, in at least 26 states and Colombia County.

The affected states include Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Merland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Carolina , Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The FDA website has a complete list of downloaded products, as well as the brands sold and the type of stores affected in each condition affected.
