The restored PAC-12 has eight members enrolled for the 2026-27 athletics season: Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Diego State, Washington State and the State of Utah.
The conference must attract at least another member of football before 2026 to reach the minimum of eight NCAA teams in order to qualify as a FBS conference. Gonzaga does not have a football program.
PAC-12, which poaches five teams from Mountain West and Gonzaga from the West Coast Conference, is expected to add between one and six additional members in the coming weeks and months.
As the conference is redirecting salaries, SI’s Boise State Broncos examines schools related to PAC-12 in various reports.
We have already covered the tigers in Memphis, North Texas medium green, rice owls, state hornets in Sacramento, Gales of St. Mary, South Florida Bulls, Texas Bobkks, Tulan Green Wave and UNLV rebels. We will now go back to the American Athletic Conference to destroy the Utsa Roadrunners.
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Current Conference: A American Athletic Conference

Donation: $ 286.63 million
Budget for athletics: 39,156,362 dollars
Football Stadium: Alamodome (36 582 capacity but expanding to 64,000)
Basketball Arena: Call Center (4,080 Capacity)
A relatively new program, the UTSA first made a football team in 2011 and finished 8-4 as a whole in its second season. Current head coach Jeff Trailer took Roadrunners to New Heights, including the 12-2 final in 2021.
UTSA is the only FBS program in San Antonio, the 24th largest metropolitan area in the country and dialing the hob.
Unlike Dallas and Houston, who are saturated with professional and colleges sports options, the only big sports team of San Antonio is the NBA spurs. UTSA has enough space to grow its fanbase within the San Antonio market.
UTSA is one of the nine schools in the University of Texas, which has the largest donation to any system of a public university in the United States at $ 44.97 billion.
Like northern Texas, UTSA is a large extent to a school of travel by 89 percent of its students living outside the campus.
Roadrunners facilities are not in line with PAC-12 membership. UTSA football team plays outside the campus at Alamodome, cavernous, dated facility. The convening center is a little space in a desperate need for facelift.
Compared directly to FBS Newcomer Texas State colleagues, UTSA has less enrollment (40 678 to 35 770) and significantly higher facilities.
As with any AAC member, UTSA comes with a huge exit fee.
Of the 11 PAC-12 Expansion Objectives, profiled by SI Boise State Broncos, Utsa is probably ranked somewhere in the middle.
Roadrunners are not among the best PAC-12 options, but UTSA growth potential is indisputable.
If the PAC-12 strikes with the likes of MEMPHIS, TULANE and UNLV, UTSA can be very good on line.
