Madison, Wison. – For the three Wisconsin Basketball games in the week of January 26 – February 1, Greg Gard and his staff will celebrate the coaches of the Cancer Cancer “Costumes and Sneakers”, wearing special sneakers painted by children fighting cancer in the American family Children Hospital (AFCH).
Cancer coaches combine the power of basketball and the community together to hammer immersion and other childhood diseases. This national initiative, team efforts between the American Cancer Commission and the National Basketball Coaches Association, rallies and fans coaches to raise awareness, advocate for a healthy life and finance the fight against cancer.
The fight against cancer is personal for a guard and his family. In 2016, Guard and his wife Michelle partnered with the UW Carbone Cancer Center to launch cancer. This fundraising initiative has raised over $ 9 million in 8 years in support of cancer research and patient care throughout Wisconsin.
