Can the 4th Broadway survive without adequate funding? – FMX 94.5

It will take a miracle for Broadway’s 4th place to happen.

I am your man

Hey, do you know who could hold Broadway’s 4th place? It will be me. However, I will need a much larger control book. The Lubbock Municipal Council, which is obviously made up of people who have no idea what it takes to put even, throw about $ 40,000 on Civic Lubbock to make Broadway 4th. The goal would be for a morning parade and evening a concert of the fireworks.

Plans

So, let’s start with the plans. It is heartfelt that the first thing that dropped out is the thing that made the founder (s) set the event, and these are the groups that had fun after the parade. I am not sure how many people will head downtown just to look at bank presidents to drive in rented cars (I’m sorry, I will admit that I think parades are somehow dumb and antique to start).

Story

In the past, wonderful people and corporate sponsors have thrown money at the evening concert and some other sponsorship. If you do not participate in Broadway festivals, it gives them the perfect chance of giving up and taking a waiting approach and I do not blame them a little. This can be a problem because without additional funding, this will not be much event.

Spending

The production, which is the word for the lights, sound, scene and workforce of the evening, must enter at least at least $ 15,000 (the actual talent fee will be extra). I just don’t see how it can be done for less and I worry that I am very stupid even a figure that is so low.

Fireworks

According to one supplier, fireworks displays across the city are between $ 1,000 and $ 3500 per minute and an average of 18-23 minutes. So let’s say we’re at a low level of $ 2000 per minute and we’re doing 20 minutes, well it’s $ 40,000 and BAM! We are already $ 15,000 above our budget and everything we have covered are two foundations.

The things you don’t think of

For this event we will need at least two dozen police officers and EMS duty professionals and possibly a full first aid triage center. We will need Port-O-Potties and since we do not know how many crowds we will expect to be between 25 and 50 of them. We will need water for volunteers and some kind of identification data or shirt showing that they are official in some way. We may even need special events insurance if this event, if not covered by existing policies. But wait, we will need all this and more, twice! We will need completely different settings for the parade and down in the park.

Volunteers

Then it is the volunteer question to do this whole thing, and I think the soldiers from the feet of previous years will give up this year. I think their loyalty was based on the cult of the person Don Caldwell built. Maybe I’m not the right person for this job. I wouldn’t do it for $ 40,000 as a salary, knowing it certainly looks like a lost cause from the beginning. I hope that Broadway’s 4th did well, but I don’t see how something else can be but a shadow of previous events even with many donations.
