Buzz Williams explains why Texas A&M’s victory against South Carolina was “unlike any game” – Sports Illustrated

The A&M AGGIES Men’s Basketball No. 13 received February, started right, beating the Gamecocks South Carolina in Colombia on Saturday night with a score of 76-72.

With the victory, AGGIES has increased to 6-3 against the opponents of the conference, while Gamecocks are still looking for their first victory in the conference at 0-9.

The agias were able to shoot 70 percent of the free throw line and also improved their three points of capabilities by making 11 of 23 tries for threes led by Wade Taylor IV’s seven buckets.

The team sank nine threes in the first half, which puzzled Chief Coach, Buzz Williams.

“Well, stereotypical, we don’t even do nine in a game,” Williams said. “In fact, I thought both the teams and their volume of threesomes in the first 10 minutes are unlike any game that each of us had earlier in the season. I don’t know what the common numbers for the second half, but I thought it was The second half was more likely to play.

While Buz praised his team for the pace of the game and long -distance opportunities, he also noted how the team fights on Saturday, where it shines on Tuesday: offensive struggles.

“I didn’t think the shots were necessarily bad. I thought that what causes us problems was that we were not offensive bounces,” Williams said. “Some of these threes fired a little faster than usual, but the first 10 minutes of the game were a little quick probably about how we usually play.”

The agias will receive a week of rest before they go back to Missouri to stand up to the tigers.
