After almost three -week search, Seattle Seyhox landed on Clint Cubiak as their new offensive coordinator.
Seahawks OC Hire: Shanahan tree can also be called a cubiat tree
The 37-year-old Cubiak comes to Seattle after two previous stays as an NFL player, serving as OC for Minnesota Vikings in 2021 and OC by New Orleans Saints’ OC in 2024.
This differentiates Cubiak from the other two candidates who are reported to have received personal second interviews, as neither the coach of the Detroit offensive Lions Hank Frahali nor the Minnesota Viking Assistant OK S
He also differentiates Cubiack from former Seahawks Oc Ryan Grubb, which was released earlier this month after Seattle’s inconsistent season in insult. Grubb was hired last winter on the heels of two extremely successful seasons in the city like the UW Huskies OC, but he had never called plays or even a NFL level coach before.
For the SEAHAKS radio network analyzer and the former NFL wide receiver Michael Bund, Kubiak’s NFL call attempt made the best candidate for the job.
“I just don’t want to go through those bumps on the road with a person who didn’t call (NFL plays) before,” Booms said on Monday with Seattle’s bumps and Stacey. “… I think this crime is in place in his development, where he will most benefit from a mature, experienced offensive coordinator.
“This organization is not starting,” he added. “It’s almost like we’ve worked for several years. I know it’s been a year with (head coach) Mike McDonald, but the feeling is that things are moving a little. You need an experienced president or manager to enter and make sure your processes are in place. “
Cubiack’s crimes with the Vikings and saints did not put the land destroying. His crime in 2021 in Minnesota was ranked 14th in scoring, 11th place in passing yards and 17th place in fast yards. His 2024 crime in New Orleans scored 91 points in his first two games, but suffered from murder from injuries and finished 24th in scoring, 23rd in passing yards and 14th place in fast yards.
However, Booms liked what he saw from Cubiak’s crime from a schematic point of view.
“Forget the numbers,” Boom said. “Your numbers play tricks sometimes. Watch the movie. And the reason I like what I saw on a movie: a full defender was used. You have Jet Sweep. Outside the sliced cleaning you have a split area. You have compensation. You’re in a rifle. You are under the center. You have a wide area. There is a quick game. There are double narrow edges. There are shifts. There are throws. There are drops. There is power. There is a trap. This is a repeated crime and I think (defender Jeno Smith) will take advantage of being in the center much more than it was last year.
“When you look at the movie, (Cubiak) there is a plan and it is not only shot by the hip joint,” Booms added. “And that’s what I appreciate. So we’ll wait and see. Is it a guarantee that this will hit and be great? No, nothing is guaranteed. But from what you had – from your options – I like this choice. “
