Broadway in Birmingham to present THE ILLUSIONISTS – THE MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS – BroadwayWorld

The Theater Guild of America will present the touring family magic show ILLUSIONS – THE MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS. This production is part of the 24–25 BROADWAY IN BIRMINGHAM series and will be on stage at the BJCC Concert Hall from December 3-4, 2024.

It’s the most magical time of the year… ‘Tis the season for THE ILLUSIONISTS – THE MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS, the latest installment in the world-famous, blockbuster touring magic show The Illusionists, from producers Simon Painter, Cirque du Soleil and MagicSpace Entertainment. The US tour, based on the hit Broadway production, is heading to more than 20 cities this holiday season and will bring the mind-blowing, family-friendly show to Birmingham’s BJCC Concert Hall on December 3-4, 2024.

“Our record-breaking Broadway run of THE ILLUSIONISTS – MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS was a smash hit and we’re so excited to bring the show to more audiences across the country,” says producer Simon Painter. “The show is a perfect way for families and friends to celebrate the holidays together and see amazing magicians perform on stage.”

THE ILLUSIONS – THE MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS showcases the stunning talents of the most amazing illusionists on earth. The Illusionists has broken box office records around the world and dazzled audiences of all ages with a powerful mix of the most outrageous and astonishing performances ever seen on stage. This non-stop show is full of thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions.

This year’s family show promises even more illusions, close-up magic, mentalism and technological spectacle, performed by master artists who have captivated audiences around the world.

The confirmed cast for 2024 includes:

  • Kevin James – The Inventor: A world-class magician and one of YouTube’s most watched ever, James is known for his unique comedy and magic, has performed in 110 countries and headlined top theaters including Broadway, West End and Las Vegas. He has entertained royalty and performed for President Obama at the White House. He received the Creative Fellowship Award from the Academy of Magical Arts and Sciences in 2004 and was repeatedly voted Stage and Parlor Magician of the Year.

  • James More – The Deceptionist: More is a leading illusionist who rose to fame after auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent in 2013, amassing over 100 million views on YouTube. He became the first British magician to appear on Broadway. They also appeared on The Ellen Show, America’s Got Talent and Tonight at the London Palladium.

  • David Williamson – The Trickster: Williamson is an award-winning magician with over 40 years of experience, known for his unique comedic style and engaging audience participation. He has performed worldwide on television and in theaters, and his magic how-to book has been translated into five languages. It is dedicated to sharing the joy and wonder of magic with audiences of all ages.

  • Chris Cox – The Mentalist: Cox, a multi-award winning “mind reader who can’t read minds”, has performed on Broadway, London’s West End and the Sydney Opera House. He starred in the BBC series “Chris Cox’s Mind Bogggling Magic” and “Killer Magic” and appeared on NBC’s “The Today Show.” The Guardian called him “one of Britain’s most exciting entertainers” and the New York Times described him as “a hyperactive Harry Potter who knows what’s on your mind”.

  • Pablo Canovas – The Unforgettable: Spanish magician Canovas gained international recognition as a child prodigy, holding the record three times as Spain’s youngest winning illusionist. He won titles such as “Golden Wizard” in Paris and “Heir of Illusion” in the House of Magic. He captivates the audience with his mesmerizing performances, making them question reality and admire his talent.

The Illusionists has previously wowed audiences and the world, including hit engagements on Broadway, London’s West End and on tour in the United States and Canada.
