Reno, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) – The Bristlecone Recovery Center has broken up into a 20 beds medical detox, a decisive addition to North Nevada’s health services.

The need for the Detox Center is emphasized by a 20% increase in the emergency department visits associated with an overdose in the Washoe County from December 2021 to December 2022, according to a report on the monitoring of medicines in Nevada. Closing key resources such as West Care in 2018 and the Community Triage Center left a significant difference in downloading services.
The Bristlecone Medical Detox Center will offer medically controlled care for persons detoxifying substances such as alcohol, benzodiazepines and opioids. This will give priority to the unstable population, including those of Medicaid, uninsured individuals and vulnerable groups such as pregnant women.
The project with an estimated price of $ 2.6 million has already provided $ 2.1 million through community support. Efforts to raise the remaining $ 500,000 needed to complete.
Once functions, the center will provide immediate care to over 1300 customers a year and will serve as the entry point of the continuum of the care of the Bristlecone Center.
