Brenda Sue Gilbert, 71 -year -old, died at 15:35, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Jersel Community Hospital.
She was born on February 18, 1953 in White Hall, Illinois, one of eleven children born of the late Frederick and Elsie (Swearingin) Gansz -Sr.
He married George Gilbert, Jr., and together they were the parents of six children. While no parent was perfect, she loved her family in the best way she knew how. While her life was filled with her fair share of ups and downs, she left this world, knowing she was loved. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed the simple things – spending time with a good puzzle to search for words or a game of solitaire, finding comfort in familiar models and small victories of the game.
Her six children have survived, George Gilbert III from Dexter, Missouri, Gregory Gilbert of Anderson, Indiana, Elizabeth Gilbert of the Green Castle, Indiana, John Gilbert and his wife Cynthia, from Pedland, Georgia, Susan Wilfon of the Castle of Green Grien. Green Castle, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; Sister, Mary Zimmerman from Kentucky and Brother, Darl Gansh of Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by death by her sisters, Vanda Behringer, Judy Beckman and Erma Hall; Like her brothers, Larry, Gerald, David, Frederick Jr. and Gary Gans.
Brenda will be set to rest at the Provident Cemetery near Carolton.
Crawford’s funeral home in Jersevil is entrusted with reservations.
