The mayor’s Baton Rouge service has announced that it will transform a warehouse for questioning the police station in Baton Rouge, which has been used as a place of questioning for a shift in a community center.
WBRZ first reported the bold cave in 2023 after an officer was released against the background of an investigation into the warehouse adjacent to the first BRPD area. The space was used mainly by the already non -existent BRPD street crime department.
Lawyer Ryan Thompson, who is involved in four court -related lawsuits, told WBRZ that his customers were beaten, sought or shocked by Taser in the warehouse.
“What is happening here should never happen. It’s a torture warehouse, it’s a black site. And it meets all the definitions of it,” Thompson told WBRZ after entering the facility in March 2024 D. The black site is defined as a location is never publicly recognized as existing, where secret military and defense operations are held unattended.
The mayor of the mayor hopes to turn the site into a community center by partnering with YWCA to do so.
“We partner with YWCA to turn this facility into a public space that serves and supports the locals. We want to take it from a tragedy to a place of healing,” said a spokesman.
Thompson said the proposal was concerned.
“Any calls to destroy the crime scene are very disturbing. Moreover, all conversations that were being made to rearrange the bold cave should not happen without contribution from the victims and the community,” he said.
