Two representatives of the Center for Consultation and Consultation, 5815 Broadway at Great Bend, recently attended a special event in the State Capitol to distribute the word for their non -profit agency and its many programs.
The two employees are: Holly Bower, Coordinator of #Gerororeasonswhy, which is a suicide program led by teens; and Billy Dauum, Director of Community Services. They participated in a day of intercession of the Center for Mental Health in the Community (CMHC) in Topeka.
“We wanted to take this opportunity to inform the legislators of the services and programs we offer to adults and children,” Bower said. “Legislators’ support is so important because state and federal funding is key to providing resources to our neighbors concerns about mental health.”
During the one-day event, Bower and Dauum interacted with the reputation Bret Fairchild of the 113rd County in Central Kansas and several other lawmakers.
“They stopped from our exhibit to thank us and show support for the services offered by the Center,” Bower commented. “We appreciate their interest in our programs, as well as their awareness that funding is crucial.”
The exhibition included brochures in English and Spanish, as well as other information materials.
Now that the Center is fully licensed as a certified behavioral health clinic in the community, “our agency’s focus is on the whole face,” Bower noted. “This holistic approach offers a variety of therapies as well as specialized help for substance disorder; Problems with housing, employment and veterans; And treatment aided by medication.
