You giggled as you watched your kids carry their PJS inside, sleeping with spoons under their pillow and washing ice cubes in the toilet last Thursday. Depending on which prediction you watched before you fall asleep, you may have been astonished by the amount of white things that have been accumulated. When everything was said and done, the Boyz zone saw 4.9 inches of snow During the last winter storm. This was enough to cancel class in almost every school in the area.

Boise has already registered 9.9 inches of snow, which is still significantly behind our normal 17.6 inches. There is no new snow in the forecast until Thursday, but this has not stopped the National Meteorological Service to first issue its kind council on the time for the Boise Zone.

What is the new time advice on the Boise area?

If you thought Monday morning was frosty, get ready for an explosion of even more chief air. We are about to see a few days of one -digit low temperatures for the first time this season. At this point, the forged Boise residents would expect the National Meteorological Service to issue a windmill consultant to give public heads that spending time outside is probably not a good idea. This time they won’t do it.

In fact, the National Meteorological Service no longer uses the terms “Wind Coolence Consultant” or “Wind Winding Warning”. Instead, they changed the term “wind coolers consultant” to a “cold weather consultant” and consolidated the term “Wind Winding Warning” in “extremely cold warning”.

Thehe The new Cold Time Consultant is in force at 10am on Thursday. Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, Ontario and Mountain Home are listed in the consultation. Due to the proximity, Meridian, Eagle and other nearby areas should also be careful. This is the first time the change in terminology this consultation is used for our area.

Why does the National Meteorological Service get rid of consultations for wind coolers?

The agency wanted to simplify its winter weather forecasts, allowing people to prepare for dangerously cold temperatures with or without high winds. That is why they began to use these new conditions.

Cold weather consultant

Issued when the air or wind temperatures in the pipes will be seasonally cold but not extreme. It is still recommended to cover the properly exposed skin during this advice.

Exclusive cold clock

With or without wind, temperatures have already become dangerously cold. NWS recommends changing your plans so that you are not out through the largest part of the day and cover the open skin. They also suggest that your car has at least half a gas tank under these conditions.

An extremely cold warning

When there is an extremely cold warning, you are at risk of frost or hypothermia as you are out. If you cannot avoid being out, you should absolutely dress in layers and avoid exposed skin.
