Birmingham Royal Ballet Dancers Share the Life of the Company when the tour begins – BBC

The prestigious ballet company has participated in the Glastonbury Music Festival and has also produced production on Black Sabbath: The Ballet. The soundtrack was provided by Birmingham’s Heavy Metal Superstars.

“I think it’s amazing that we are taking ballet in different places,” added G -ja Thompson, who was in both shows. “I was actually dancing in Glastonbury, and it was an incredible experience to integrate a festival fun with what we were doing.

“It’s really important to take it wider so that the ballet is not forgotten.”

G -Ja Alan, who has BRB2, a junior company of Birmingham Royal Ballet, will also participate in Cinderella.

She said: “Most people do not really know that being a ballet dancer is a professional job that requires many years of tense training.

“It is very similar to sports combined with art.”
