Montgomery – Ahsaa has officially announced its new plan for hosting rights for super 7 football state championships and is a mix of something old and something new.

The state has announced to its Central Council on the winter on board Wednesday, January 29, that the Birmingham and Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile will be spinning as the Super 7 hosts for the next four years.

The CEO of AHSAA Heath Hat presented the plan of two Central Control Council sites on Wednesday, and the Council approved the plan for the next four years.

According to the plan, the Super 7 championships of 2025 and 2027 will be held in Birmingham at a protective stadium, while the editions of 2026 and 2028 will be in mobile devices at Hankok Whitney Stadium.

Tuscaloosa News announced earlier in November that the state had dropped to four sites. The ASU stadium in the Montgomery and Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy has not been chosen as hosts.

“I want to thank all the cities who have shown interest in the household of our Super 7 Football Championship in the coming years,” Haron said. “They were all impressive and could have been exceptional places for our Super 7 event. Both years had a local sense, as Thompson won the 7A State Championship in 2021 and 2024, while the Spanish park played in the State Championship of the 2024 Girls Football Championship.

Super 6 expanded to seven games when Ahsaa added class 7A in 2014, eight with the first game of the State Football Championship for girls in 2021 and nine in 2023, when the Flag Football expanded to two classifications , class 1A-5A and class 6A/7A.

Ahsaa did not say what would happen if UAB and South Alabama should host their respective matches at the football conference championship.
