Birmingham’s MAX Transit will offer free bus transportation on Nov. 5 in an effort to help local residents get to the polls.
Services will include fixed route buses, Magic City Connector and Birmingham Xpress. Residents can also call for free paratransit. The initiative excludes MAX On-Demand, a ride-hailing service.
This service is available for all routes, whether you’re heading to or from your polling place, work or around town, according to city officials.
“We believe that access to transportation should never be a barrier to exercising the right to vote,” said Amanda Hare, Marketing and Communications Manager. “By offering free rides on Election Day, we hope to make it easier for members of our community to make their voices heard.”
