Birmingham extended its lead at the top of League 1 to seven points with a one -sided 4-0 win over the lateral side of the Cambridge basement.

Jay Stansfield gave Birmingham a lead from the place of the 23rd minute with his 19th goal of the season in all competitions. He came after the hosts won a hot -contested punishment when James Broofi pushed Ethan Laard.

Deputy Luke Harris threw the fourth goal of 20 yards at home, with 10 minutes left after former city defender Michael Morrison looked at Scott Wright’s cross.

It was the biggest victory in the Urban League, as they won by 6-1 in December 2014 and extended their invincible running in League 1 to 14 games.
