Kazuki Yamada Music Director signed a short contract extension today with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Chief Executive Officer Emma Stanning said: “I’m glad that the brilliant Jamada CAUCI will remain CBSO music director until August 2029 from work with students in our incredible school, the River Academy of CBSO, to the BBC Graduate Guide, He , it is really at the heart of our music workmanship. He is also fully committed to Birmingham, as a city with huge cultural breadth and creative opportunity. He fully embodies everything CBSO hopes to be, and we are privileged to expand our relationship with him in this way. “
Yamada said: “I am extremely happy to renew my contract with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Over the last few years, I have developed such a strong relationship with the orchestra and it has been a real privilege to upgrade the special relationships I have with these talented musicians. CBSO is a super happy, positive and motivated orchestra and I have always been inspired by their passion and dedication. There is so much potential to explore together and I am excited about the opportunities ahead. “
