A large party Wednesday afternoon at a park in Durham caused several traffic problems during the evening commute.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a report of a large group in the 700 block near North Hoover Road. Police said they were told several hundred cars were parked up and down the road.
Sky 5 briefly flew over the scene as police moved to remove partygoers from the park.
Police said they broke up the party because it was unauthorized.
Police said the large crowd created dangerous road conditions due to the large number of vehicles and pedestrians.
North Carolina Central University campus police also assisted because the party included students at the schools, police said.
