Bicycle Shop, Bakery, Business Park for Future Massage Schools in Siler -rufina by Santa Fe – Santa Fe New Mexican

Pedro Murga, one of the F1 Cycly partners, said it did not take much time to conclude that fate could try to tell him something last summer when he made plans to launch the venture.

Murrow worked for many years at Santa Fe’s Mellow Velo Bike Shop on East Marcy Street when he approached his friend David Miller, who had recently invested in two spaces in the Parkway Drive Business Park. Miller asked him if he was interested in opening a new bicycle store with him, and the two made guidance plans to launch the company a few months on the road.

Shortly thereafter, Murga was informed by the owner of Mellow Velo that he would finish the business in late July, leaving dirt without work.

“I’m looking for signs and it was one of them,” said Murga, grinning.

He quickly returned to Miller and the two decided to speed up their schedule to open the new store.

Murray insists that the move is not to try to take advantage of the sudden absence of soft bicycle.

“We don’t want to replace Mellow Velo,” he said. “We just want to give people another option.”

And the closure of a soft bicycle had left a hole in the market, he said.

Although there are 10 bicycle stores listed on the Bike Santa Fe website, a local bicycle advocacy and education organization, the city’s status as a cycling community means that the sales and bicycle services market is far from being saturated. He and Miller felt the need to act quickly before changing.

“Time is everything,” he said.

They managed to open the F1 Cyclery in a few weeks, due to a large extent to an open, scarce floor plan in the store, which required a little in the path of physical changes.

Murga said he chose the name as a reflection of his enthusiasm for Formula 1 auto. He said that the layout and appearance of F1 cyclicality also reminds of a formula 1 garage, a space that usually has a pure, irrelevant appearance.

Coincidentally, the store occupies the Suite F1 in the Business Park – another sign of Murga, which its participation in the project should have been.

Murrow and Miller were excluded and fled at the end of last summer, but they suffered some failures almost immediately. Bulks broke a window from floor to ceiling in space in September, passing by a few bikes that belong to customers who served them and two that were owned by the sluggish.

Then, a week before Thanksgiving, another burglary tried. This time, the intruders tried to push a car through the front window of the business.

This was enough for Murrow and Miller, who immediately invest in heavy, retractable steel lids that allow them to seal the space every night when the business closed.

However, the incidents do not discourage Murga.

“No, I’m motivated,” he said. “I am motivated to work more. There are not so many opportunities for a bike. “

Murga, Chihuahua, Mexico, a native who lived in cities in Mexico and the Western United States, said he was one of those “bicycle boys” over the greater part of the last 20 years, working most as a specialist By repair and never dreams that he did not dream would have his own store. But Miller was after a slap for six or seven years to partner with him at a bicycle store. When Miller acquired the two spaces in a business park as an investment without a plan on how to fill them, gruel said that the equation had changed for him – especially when Mellow Velo closed his doors.

The F1 offers bicycles that start at $ 700 and reach almost any price you can name, Murga said. Each engine is custom made, starting with a frame before different customer components are selected and installed in the store.

The store also repairs and changes the motors. Murga, which largely serves the store alone, stated that the task occupies the bigger part of its time, although the new bicycle sales represent the bigger part of the store’s income.

The bicycle sales industry has experienced two major sales in its history, he said. The first continued from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s, when US rider Lance Armstrong won Tour de France seven times before his career ended with disgrace when he was revealed that he used drugs that increase effectiveness.

“People were buying bicycles left and right because they could do nothing else,” Murga said.

While bicycle stores are usually considered as a heavy -duty brother -in -law, a dirt said that his goal is to turn F1 Cyclery into a place where everyone feels welcome and comfortable. “We really want to focus on having a bicycle shop for a women’s cyclists,” he said.

Murga plans to establish this in a direct way, he said.

“We will treat them in the way they just want to come back,” he said, adding that he hopes the F1 will become known for being a place where all lovers of cycling can buy a drink from the bakery with Wild leaven in the neighborhood and come to hang out.

Jessica and Andre Campon, the married team that owns the bakery, have run their business in one form or another in the northern New Mexico since 2012, including a former version of Guadalupe Street in early 2020.

But they consolidated all their operations under one roof in December when they opened this establishment. The bakery specializes in several varieties of acidic bread made from local organic flours.

“For us, this is more than just making bread,” said Jessica Kempton, explaining that she and her husband are striving to create a product that is “good for your abdomen and health.”

Andre Campon said Wild Leavene farmed his bread in a long time than most bakeries, a process that reduces the amount of gluten it contains, which makes it more smaller and gives it a longer shelf life.

He said some of his ties to local farmers, ranches and other manufacturers have been going back for decades, leading to a level of trust that few other companies like theirs may coincide.

The bakery also has sweets, croissants, cookies, pizza and soups and stews. On the side of the drinks, he offers espresso from local baking, homemade tea and fermented carbonated gas.

Andre said the decision he and his wife made to consolidate their operations on their current site had paid dividends.

“We can invest more of our energy into our foods,” he said. “We’re not stretched as thin.”

Kempton said they feel good about moving to the business park, explaining that they have a lot to do with surrounding businesses – the bicycle store, a bright moon and a potential new fitness.

“These are all places for people who are interested in investing in their health,” Jessica said.

The newcomer to the Business Park, the Bright Moon Institute and the Community Clinic, is the birth of Ahnama, a former physicist and engineer who has toured the world, refining his Thai massage technique.

Anama said the Institute would serve as a state -owned Massage School, while offering customers the opportunity to receive a discounted practical healing work through the clinic.

Learning hours will be offered for continuing education for licensed massage therapists, as well as for community members who want to develop a basic understanding of art, he said.

“I really want to emphasize the professional, practical aspect of him,” he said, noting that there are many opportunities for massage therapists in Santa Fe.

Space Ahnama plans to rent is significant, extending on two floors per square square feet. On the first floor he plans to install the Kombucha and Elixir bar while the classrooms will be located above. The clinic’s locations will be presented at both levels.

Anama said the restaurant would have a simple and unadulterated but inviting atmosphere, furnished with plants and many of the carpets and decor he had collected from his travels around the world. In many ways I will look like a yoga studio, he said.

Anama said he was hoping to open until mid -March. He was also attracted to the business park because he felt kinship with the other tenants.
