Batton Rouge student arrested after a gun found in a wheelchair, say MPs – Yahoo! Voices

Baton Rouge, La. (First Louisiana) Sheriff’s sheriff in East Baton Rouge arrested a 17-year-old student at Woodlane High School on Wednesday after authorities claim to have found a gun hidden in their wheelchair pillow.

Ebro identifies the student like Kevin Evans III.

The headmaster said he had been notified by a student that Evans had a pistol. Evans was summoned to the office and a Glock with an extended magazine in the wheelchair was found in the extended magazine.

The 9th grade student admitted that he brought the weapon to school and said his friends played in his wheelchair and could put him there. He also said he was threatened with his shot before and was scared of his life, according to Ebro.

Evans was arrested and charged with illegally carrying a firearm, carrying a firearm or dangerous weapons in school property and an area without firearms.

The principal said that while the front doors of the school were locked, the campus was not placed on lock.
