Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – A woman at Baton Rouge will be serving time in the federal prison after using the Covid -19 relief money to pay for a destination wedding.
The United States lawyer Ronald K. Gate Gate -Jr. has announced that US District Judge Brian A. Jackson has been sentenced to Gernessia Williams, 47, from Baton Ruzh, 13 months to the federal prison after her sentence to know the transformation of state funds.
The court also ordered Williams to serve three years of supervisory release after its prison period and ordered it to pay $ 110,030.47 in restitution.
According to the accepted, made as part of her guilty recognition, between April 2020 and January 2023, Williams deliberately converted over $ 100,000 loan receipts she received as part of the US Administration’s Covid-19 program to the US Administration (EIDL) for Disaster Disaster Loan (EIDL) for Disaster Loan (EIDL) its own use.
