Baton Rouge’s new radio station plays R&B, vintage music – AOL

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — iHeartMedia Baton Rouge is launching a new R&B and “Back in the Day Jams” radio station on October 14th.

104-1 The Vibe (KVDU-FM) will play music from artists such as Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Jodesi, Anita Baker and Usher. It will also feature celebrities including Steve Harvey on The Steve Harvey Morning Show and Keith Sweat on The Sweat Hotel at night.

Beyoncé Foxx and newly appointed program director Miss Monique will also be part of the lineup. The station will run commercial-free for the first three weeks, according to a news release.

“This is an exciting and long-awaited opportunity for Baton Rouge listeners to wake up to Steve Harvey’s nationally successful morning show and end their day with Sweat Hotel,” said SVP of Programming Louisiana/Arkansas Markets Bob Murphy. “Our Executive Vice President of Programming Angela Watson-Charles brings a wealth of incredible programming success to this launch and we are thrilled to bring the multi-talented Miss Monique to Baton Rouge as Program Director and PM Host on 104-1 The Vibe. “

Full program lineup:

  • The Steve Harvey Morning Show: 6-10am

  • Beyoncé Foxx: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m

  • Miss Monique: 3-7 p.m

  • The Sweat Hotel: 7pm to midnight.
