Basketball College for Women in College: South Carolina, Texas Collision in the top five rematch – Sports Illustrated

Basketball College for Women in College: South Carolina, Texas Collision in the top five rematch – Sports Illustrated

The relatively stable top 10 women saw its first major bumps on the road last week. USC came across a middle team in Iowa, who played inspired basketball in front of Caitlin Clark before retireing the T -shirt of the leading NCAA goalkeeper of all time. Then on Thursday, Uconn could not last the third quarter of Tennessee and losses to Vols for the first time since 2007.

Although none of the results will only change the shape of the season, they have served as a reminder that even some of the best teams are susceptible to every night. With at least three more matches between the top 10 teams during this upcoming week, here’s how to watch these games and a number of others worth following:

Saturday, 15:00 ET, ESPN+

Apart from a rough afternoon in Boulder, Colorade, which came immediately after the loss of Ayok Lee Star Center to the injury of the legs, Kansas is almost irresistible, but not because of the outbursts of insult. Wildcats, ranked 11th in the country with 54 points per game, locked back in defense against No. 9 TCU. The senior guard Serena Sundal has taken the evaluation mantle with Lee, scoring 27 points in the victory over the horned frogs. Plus, Kansas will receive Oklahoma State as soon as the cowboys scored a huge 37 points in the loss of West Virginia. Victory can cement Wildcats as seed # 2 in the NCAA tournament -and maybe more important is a real threat, even without their best player.

Sunday, 14:00 ET, ESPN

If last week it was a setting for the national title contenders, these two teams did not receive the note. Texas beat Texas A&M on the road and No. 24 Vanderbilt with combined 41 points. South Carolina has knocked Obun and Georgia with a combined 49. These programs are playing their best basketball for the season at the moment, which led to a clash of the Titans in Austin on Sunday. Longhorns may have the best player in this game in a sophomore Madison Booker (16.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 48.8% three-point shooting), but the depth of Gamecocks is stunning. Dawn Staley is not afraid to go to eight or nine players deep – and experiences very little dropping out when he does. The last time these two teams met, win with 67-50 South Carolina, seven Gamecocks scored seven or more points. South Carolina also turned the ball over 22 times and made 28 less shots from Texas … and still won with 17.

The NC State has quietly maneuvering its road on the ACC ladder over the past few weeks and has declared itself a legal threat to Notre Dame with the victory on Monday over Duke. Asia James scored 36 points in its career at an efficient 15 on 19 on the floor. The victory put Wolfpack second in the conference, entering a match with another opponent in the ACC top echelon. In recent weeks, Seminoles has similarly carved the conference competition, thanks to the stable game of NCAA Ta’niya Latson’s leading goalkeeper (26.2 points per match). The ACC bets on this game are already making this one of the more intriguing slopes of the week, so that there are two clean goalscorers such as James and Latson put this match in elite territory.

Sunday, 16:00 ET, ESPN

The volunteers stopped their small slide with three matches with a victory on Thursday at home against Uconn, which has to go a long way to get the team back to # 4 seeds or better. But Tennessee does not rest, having to go back on the road to take Kim Mulkey & Co. LSU still has only one loss to the main book, but largely avoids playing the best teams in SEC – except South Carolina and Tennessee. The last time these two teams met, they combined for 47 points in the fourth quarter, and Kailin Gilbert struck the winner of the Tigers game with one second to the left. Expect another race forward and forward with LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson and Tennessee Talausia Cooper, the leading fee for their respective teams.

Thursday, 22:00 Et, Peacock

Ucla continues to be tanned and did it, suffocating # 8 Ohio on Wednesday. The game was close for a while, but Gabriela Jakes, a youth sister of the former Ucla star and forward Miami Heath Jakez Jakers – threw away any hope of disorder from an exceeding bouquet 11-10 in the fourth quarter. The Center Lauren Bets is still the engine that makes the unbeaten machine and does it, affecting the games in different ways. Against Ohio State (19 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks), she scored early. Against Minnesota, she made only five shots, but made it easier to crime and ended with 11 assists. USC does not have the size to slow it down and will have to rely on the speed of Juju Watkins in the back plan to maintain in the first of the two rival games of LA this regular season.

No. 21 California Golden Bears (19–5) in No. 3 Notre Dame, fighting with Ireland (20–2)

Sunday, 14:00 ET, ACC network

Cal looks like a team that can beat almost any other team in the ACC, but also has its own fair share of dudes mixed-like 38-point, appearing against Duke in mid-January. “Gold bears can pose a threat.

The Trojans had no hangover from the loss of last weekend to Iowa, blowing Wisconsin on the road and there were five players in double numbers. This is this type of balanced attack that can hold USC from two losses a week, especially against Buckeyes, who boasted four players who average more than 10 points per game.

Nebraska Cornushers (16–7) in No. 16 Maryland Therapi (18–5)

Thursday, 6:30 pm, Big Ten Network

Balloon signal! Nebraska was solid this season, but last week there were two losses from Indiana and Michigan that crippled his summary. Cornhuskers are now receiving a team of Maryland, which has lost four of their last five, but most against some of the other top teams in the big ten. Suffice it to say that both teams need a lot of winning.

No. 4 Texas Longhorns (23–2) in No. 11 Kentucky Wilds (19–2)

Thursday, 19:00 et, ESPN2

Georgia Amor delivered to Wildcats against Oklahoma, scoring 42 points in 7 out of 12 and published eight assists. Kentucky will need another performance from the transfer of Virginia Tech to download Longhorns, which allow only 28.4% beyond the arc this season.

Virginia Tech Hokies (15-8) in No. 13 North Carolina Tar Top (20–4)

Thursday, 19:00 ET, ACC EXTRA

UNC’s best ACC protection, combined with the fact that Tar Heels does not have a single player, an average of 12 points per game, makes many ugly outings. But North Carolina has a habit of winning games with low ratings. This is not a strong Hokies suit, which also had their offensive struggles, but Thursday is the team’s last real chance to strengthen their resume before March.
