Barrasso: Wyoming must be responsible for managing Grizzly bears, not Washington – Sheridan Media

During the remarks of the Senate floor on Tuesday, US Senator John Baraso (R-WY) called for a restoration of Wyoming’s authority to manage their own Grizli population. Barrasso emphasized the legislation he recently sponsored to remove Grizzly bears into the larger Yellowstone ecosystem from the list of endangered species and managing the bear of the bear to the United States. Barasso said that, according to the Constitution, most decisions affecting our lives must be made locally or state levels.

Senator Baraso said the population of Grizli bears in Yellowstone has been completely restored for more than two decades.

Baraso said it was time Wyoming, not Washington to lead Grizzly bears, and that he would continue to work with the Interior Secretary Doug Burgum along a path forward, allowing the people of Wyoming to make Wyoming decisions.
