Wilmington – Barbara Jane (Barker) Gpton, at 79, died on January 21, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late mines (Pendarvis) Davis and John Thomas Barker.
Barbara was revered by her family and friends and was proud of her role as five grandmothers. She was known for love like Nani.
Survives his daughter Carol Gpton from the Bluffle, Ia Council; grandchildren, Kylie Brown and Caden Brown; daughter, Kim (Gpton) Garnet and her husband James; grandchildren, JP Garnette and Connor Garnette; Son, Chris Gpton; The granddaughter, Casey Gpton all from Wilmington, North Carolina.
Barbara had a deep love for her family and was glad to spend time on the beach where many happy memories were made. She had a special belief that the cardinals were the spirits of the departed loved ones who were watching over us. Her family encourages everyone to think about her every time they notice a cardinal.
Life Holiday for Barbara will be held in Wilmington, North Carolina, on a later date. The cards can be sent to the family care on 4521 Sioux Street, Bluffle Tip, IA, 51501. Barbara’s warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
