Wilmington, de Delaware State Police announced the arrest of two persons in connection with the afternoon afternoon firing, which left a 19-year-old Wilmington man in critical condition.
The incident happened on February 19, 2025, approximately 4:29 pm, when soldiers respond to reports of firing near East Lea Boulevard and North Market Street. After their arrival, the authorities found the victim suffering from a firearm wound. Emergency medical care staff transports him to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to an initial investigation, the victim was on the way to the residence of East Lea Boulevard when an unidentified suspect approached and shot him. Law enforcement officers believe the suspect had dropped out of the moments of Hyundai Santa Fe before the attack. The suspect fled on the back of the parking lot, where, according to reports, Hyundai lifted it before leaving the scene.
On the day after the incident, February 20, police in Wilmington stopped the vehicle described and detained the two people inside. Residents identified as 18-year-old Darmond Green of Wilmington and 20-year-old Taa Buk from Townsend were removed and surrendered to State Police in Delaware.
Investigators say Green was the shooter in the incident, while Box was accused of helping him throw away evidence afterwards. Both persons have been charged with many crimes.
Green is against charges, including first -degree murder attempt, possession of a firearm during a crime and forged physical evidence. He was appointed and detained to the Correctional Institution Howard R. Young on a $ 1.085,000 cash bond. A box, accused of forcing evidence, hinders the prosecution and the related crimes, was released on an unsecured bond.
Authorities reiterate that all accusations remain accusations and suspects are accepted innocents unless they have been proven to be guilty of court.
