Army officer refuses to answer questions to investigate about kissing – Irvine Times

Jaysley Beck, 19 -year -old, royal artillery, filed a complaint against battery sergeant Major Michael Weber, now from class 1 rank 1, during a stay on Tarni Island, near Empsworth in Hampire, in July 2021.

The Güle Beck claims that Wo1 Webber told her that he “waited for a moment to be alone”, has engaged her in a drinking game called Last Man before grabbing her leg and trying to kiss her.

The Salisbury Coronor court listened to the artillery Beck repelled a senior officer and left the room before calling a friend after being “scared” that the W01 Webber, then at 39, would come “looking for her.”

The investigation was said that the artillery Beck was “crying” and locked himself in his car tonight before applying for his superiors in the morning.

During the hearing on Wednesday, it was emerged that the artillery Beck was found hanged in her room at Larkhill Camp in Wiltshire around December 15, 2021.

Wo1 Webber received a warning from assistant Corronron Nicholas Rayneberg before starting his evidence, with the senior officer saying that he should not answer questions that could be incriminated.

The coroner asked, “During your time on Torny Island, did you encounter the artillery Beck – you gave the same warning?”

WO1 Webber replied: “Protect to answer.”

The witness confirmed that he had written an apology letter to the artillery Beck and that the content of the letter was true.

The coroner asked, “In the letter you will see that you describe your behavior as” absolutely unacceptable ” – the same warning – what was your behavior?”

WO1 Webber replied: “Protect to answer.”

He replied “Declining to answer” questions whether he put his hand on the artillery Beck’s feet or whether he nailed her while trying to kiss her.

The senior officer also refused to answer whether he was drunk or ordered to leave the island by Colonel Samantha Shepherd, who was a colonel for royal artillery in 2021.

During Alison Gary’s interrogation, representing the Gunner Beck family, WO1 Webber refused to answer questions about the incident.

He also refused to tell if he had told his wife that he had put his hand on the feet of the artillery Beck.

Following the incident, Wo1 Webber received a minor administrative action and wrote a letter of apology to Gunner Beck, which was handing her hand by her senior line manager, Major Richard Lpton.

At the end of its evidence, WO1 Webber – which was promoted in May 2022 – confirmed that it intends to leave the army next year.

Major Lpton described the artillery Beck as “the epitome of who you would like in the army” and confirmed that he had handed her a letter written by Wo1 Webber.

He said to the investigation: “She was calm. She read the letter. I asked if she was happy, if she was good for that. She said yes. I would say some words for encouragement. “

Another witness, Major Robert Rontz, was investigating the incident, but said he was not aware that artillery Beck said Wo1 Webber had touched her leg.

G -ja Gary told him: “The evidence we have heard about what happened is that Weber told Jaceley that he was waiting for a moment to be alone.

“That he joined a drinking game with her called Last Man Stoad. He grabbed her leg and tried to kiss her. He did this three to four times.

She pushed him away. She called a friend. She was scared that Weber would come to look for her. She gathered her things and cried and went and locked herself in her car. “

Major Rontz said that if he had been aware of this statement, he would have “questioned” the advice given to him by the commanders and legal advice they were looking for.

He confirmed that the official record stated that WO1 Webber had made “inappropriate behavior unknown to an order officer” and did not contain details of the incident.

Major Rontz said that at the beginning of his investigation, he was informed of WO1 Webber admitted that he was trying to kiss the artillery Beck and “showed remorse and shame on the incident.”

Previously, the investigation heard that the artilleryman Beck received thousands of messages from another senior counterpart, Bombardier Ryan Mason, whom she described as “psychotic and possessive.”

On Wednesday, Sergeant Corey Bud staff said he was in an intimate relationship with the artillery Beck during her death when he was married.

SSGT Budd confirmed that Gunner Beck was worried and “scared” of BDR Mason’s behavior, which included “possessing” and “jealous”.

The coroner asked, “Did you ever make sense that Jaisley could hurt in some way?”

SSGT BUDD replied, “No.”

A statement from SSGT Budd described how he worried when he was not heard by the artillery Beck and attended her room with colleagues and master key.

“I found the body of the artillery beck here,” his statement said.

“I immediately dialed 999.”

The investigation is ongoing.
