I say Arizona because this is the territory of the Cactus League. Grapefruit League does her spring workout in Florida and that’s fine. But Arizona is where all the favorites play on the west coast, from San Francisco giants and athletics to Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels and San Diego Padres.

The action unfolds at nine stadiums covering the regions of the Phoenix-in Tempe, Peoria, Mesa, Guudiar and Scotsdale-Sumi, as Bay District fans are rushing to the region to enjoy a debauchery, sports-tender celebration with a lot matches.

So how do you round the spring weekend? Here is our pitch.

Choose a home base

Near the action is the name of the game. Choose hotels near the stadium you most want to visit. Since the teams have their own home stadiums, you can choose your own city where your team will play the most.

For example, Giants, Rockies and Diamondbacks play a ball in Scotsdale between Scotsdale and Salt River Stadium. In a desert city, perhaps most famous for its luxury spa and endless golf courses, stay in the W Scottsdale in the heart of the center puts you close to restaurants, bars, shopping and more. The triple workout package at the spring games, which lasts until March 31, includes a baseball swing for visitors.

Hotel Valley Ho, Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows and Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale offer discount packages from a hotel with food and drink loans.

These scattered resorts offer many additional amenities. You will find four swimming pools, a fitness center and two golf courses at Boulders Resort & Spa, for example, where the Grill Kitchen & Bar hotel offers a spring training menu with Hot Dogs formed after the Cactus League teams.

The dog with a diamond, bacon, for example, is garnished with onions, tomatoes, green chili, salsa and mayo. Chicago style (of course) White Sox Dog Sports onions, tomatoes, mustard, black pepper, sweet green delight, a copy of pickle, celery salt and poppy seeds. And Mariners fans can dive into a dog in Seattle with cream cheese and onion on a bun.

In Mountain Shadows Resort, guests can play a short round of golf between the short-course PAR-3 matches overlooking the Kamelbek mountains. In Andaz, the focus is on the spa of Palo Verde.

And if you wear children, Great Wolf Lodge has all kinds of attractions suitable for children, including indoor signature.

Preliminary (and posts) favorite games

You can hardly enjoy a baseball on an empty stomach. The popular and extremely lively place for Brunch, Hash Kitchen, boasts a bloody Mary and Live Dj Spinning Records bar while you are wearing avocado toast and sipping mimosa flights. There are seven places in Arizona, with two in Scottsdale.

Then book a bar before playing with a motorcycle in Arizona, whose tours are developing with spring training games. You can ride through the city in style and still appear for 15 minutes before the first step is thrown right to the front door of your stadium by your Brew bike driver.

I bet you didn’t know that theater and baseball could be mixed. Enter “Batter Up: Cactus League”, with the participation of an obsession with the baseball Brett Moore on the stage at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts on Selected Dates in March.

If watching your favorite players on the field inspire your own dreams of athletic valor, book a time slot in one of the local wadding cells. D-BAT Scottsdale is an indoor facility with cells and mound mound. This is just one of the many in Scottsdale and the surrounding baseball cities, including meat, Phoenix and Peoria.

Celebrate after the match? Popi’s office is one of the many in the region – many! – Speakeasies and our beloved, thanks to the sports memorials integrated into the atmospheric decor. Disguised as an office in the Scottsdale Strip Mall, the space opens to a slightly illuminated bar with an impressive list of cocktails and layouts that are nothing but home -run.

Baseball aside

While in town, you can also focus on some of the other great adventures in Arizona. Western culture is a big tow here and you can fill in Western Spirit, the Museum of the West of Scotsdale. Current exhibits include Pottery Hopi, more than 200 paintings by female artists from the southwest and works by John Ford Klyimer, who paints American Indians, pioneers and leather lids in the 19th century.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Winter House, Talisin West, is also here. The distinctive, historical structure serves as a Wright’s desert laboratory, an institute, in which he and his apprentices of architecture lived and worked.

Looking for a new perspective? Consider booking a hot air balloon. Morning laps are available for early risers, but sunset excursions are really spectacular. Enjoy the vital pink sky of desert sunset, followed by Charcutri and sparkling wine.

Outside of Scottsdale

If you land in Tempe to watch the angels in Los Angeles, then spend your days in Lake Tempe and evenings of your dinners.

In meat cubes play in Sloan Park while athletics play at Hohokam Stadium. And the Center for the Arts of the Meat, the Museum of Natural History in Arizona and the Splash of Golfland receive a lot of game after the final start.

From surprise where Rangers and Royalty compete, water center, tennis and missile complex and World Life World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park are great first elections.
