Ariana Grande apologizes for backstage behavior after actress claims – Irvine Times

The Mistress of Darkness star, real name Cassandra Peterson, opened up about meeting actress-singer Grande during a Q&A panel in California.

Peterson said Grande requested about 20 tickets to her show a few years ago, and while she was backstage, she asked if she would have her picture taken with “all her friends and family.”

“I take pictures with every single one of them. I sign autographs for every single one of them,” Peterson said during the panel, which he later posted on Instagram.

“Then I say to her ‘can we take a picture together’ and she says ‘No, I’d rather not’… and then she left before my show started, all her relatives stayed.”

At the end of the video, Peterson laughs when someone on stage says “she’s playing the wrong witch” — referring to Grande’s role in the film adaptation of Wicked, in which she plays Glinda, the Good Witch of the South.

Grande has since said she was “disheartened” to see Peterson’s comments.

“Actually I don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because I had an anxiety attack and as I recall left before the rest of my family (this was about seven years ago and at the time I was really not good with I’m in public crowds or loud places), Grande commented on Peterson’s Instagram post.

“But if I’m misremembering that moment, I sincerely apologize for offending you like that.

“Thank you for being so nice to my mom, she told me how wonderful you were (she may have different feelings about it now but I’ll talk to her…obviously we all have our days!)”

Grande signed the post by writing “always sending love,” adding “you will always be our Halloween Queen.”

A representative for Peterson has been reached for comment.
