Anthem developer would love to see a reboot – Gameranx

Can Anthem get a second chance?

Anthem was a game that BioWare hoped would succeed when it launched in 2019. This futuristic action RPG was pushed through marketing but failed to be a hit with both fans and critics. Years later, at least one developer is voicing his opinion on how this game could use a reboot. If EA brought one out, could it hold up and deliver where the original release failed?

Recently, Ben Irving, a producer who worked on Anthemcommented on X post. Fan of Anthem noted how they enjoyed the game and even found some casual players joining in on the fun when they started Anthem back up again recently. Ben said they would be happy to restart Anthem one day. They also revealed that they were amazed by the reception for the game, which was so positive.

However, Ben stated that while they would love to see a reboot of the IP, they are not currently working for BioWare or EA. Instead, they are now an executive producer at Crystal Dynamics. So don’t expect any involvement from Ben Irving if EA brings out a reboot of this game.

Of course, it may still be difficult to get the game IP back into development. We have seen failed projects in the past that at first glance were a real money pit. One of the more recent cases I can think of is Concord. So developers may be hesitant to offer something like this Anthem out again. At least it shows that there are some fans who would be interested in the game and even former developers if it goes back into production. Development may have stopped for the game, but it has been released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms if you’re interested in checking out the gameplay.
