Lubbock loses another local business. And now there is a smaller option for wings.

The Wing Shack and Tap House restaurant, known for its wings and free beer, close its doors forever. Wing Shack, located on the 5412 Slide Road, opened in August 2023 and quickly gained the reputation because of the great wings with many different spices and taste options.

It was also known for the hot heater from Hell Wing Challenge that only very little managed to win.

Sunday was the last full day for The Wing Shack. Wing Shack owners have posted on Facebook that it is a difficult solution to turn off the concept. They also thanked the fans who have supported Wing Shack in the last 2 years.

Lubbock has already seen a number of restaurants close in 2025. We announced yesterday that the border is closed over the weekend. Other places that are recently closed include Pei Wei, Sprinkles and Costa Vida.

Restaurant business is a difficult business that should be and the economy has not yet stabilized since the last few years of inflation and the cost of goods are still increasing. And Lubbock is also known as a dining community that leads to great competition.
