Annual Tallahasee Marathon & Half Marathon is back this weekend – Newsbreak

The annual Tallahasese Marathon & Half Marathon is back this Sunday, February 2.

Thousands of participants will take the streets starting at 7:30 in the morning

The competition will start on the streets of Monroe and Jefferson with the final on Madison Street.

The Talahassi Police Department says several streets and intersections will be closed during the full and semi -marathon, which starts simultaneously. Below are the closure of the road to know:

Below are temporary road closure from 6: 30-9 h.

  • Monroe Street from Park Appalachi to Tennessee Street
  • Eastern Pensacola Street from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • Jefferson Street from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • College Avenue from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • Avenue Park from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • Without traffic north on the road of Thomasville from Monroe Street (7-9 h)
  • There is no traffic south along Kalhun Street from Thomasville Road to Tennessee Street. (7-9 am)

Temporary road closures follow from 7:30 pm to 12:00:

  • Robert & Trudie Perkins Way from Famu Way to Disston Street
  • Famu Way (West) from Adams Street to Lake Bradford Street
  • Famu Way (east) from Lake Bradford Road to Gambble Street
  • Ridge Road will be closed by Springsax Road to Sunnyside Drive

Below are the closure of the road for the entire duration of the marathon from 17:00 to 14:30:

  • Avenue Woodward from Gaines Street to St. Augustine ”
  • Madison Street from Avenue Woodward to Rail Avenue

TPD says all motorists should be aware that runners are right on the road and traffic will be held as runners crossed intersections

TPD calls on all citizens to inspect the marathon route to get acquainted with the affected areas to avoid delays.

Competitions are expected to end around 2:30 pm
