Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB/Gray News) – The prom senior trip to a school in Louisiana just got a lot easier.
“This trunk is right here is my favorite place,” Kenrel Taylor said.
Taylor has tied his bike every day for the past four years, riding to the Bridan Rouge bridge school for work and basketball practice.
“I have to do what I have to do. Out of this, I have a job and I have so many other things I have to do and I really don’t have time. And when I don’t have time, I can’t make the bus, so the only way I can really get here is with this bike, “Taylor said.
Taylor says he has spent all this time in what he loves most.
“The help of people is one thing I like to do in the future,” Taylor said.
Outside of his other responsibilities, he is a volunteer teacher and represents the school of various panels with the Baton Rouge police department, doing so while being a honor student.
This, combined with his determination to do everything on his bike, is something that caught the attention of Dr. Kilrein Popolo.
“When we see what was happening, we knew right then and we had to go in there,” said Popleon, an assistant director of operations at IDEA Bridge.
Entry was a piece of paper and a set of keys, tickets for Taylor’s next chapter.
“I remember talking to his mother. His mother was so excited and so proud of him as a student, and I said, “Mom, you will really be excited after this game,” PoPleon said. “And she said, ‘I hope. I don’t know what’s coming. “
Taylor received a big surprise at the end of the senior basketball game on Monday in the form of an upgrade from two wheels to four.
“I was shocked, happy. Everyone in my family shouted, “What!” And it was just like it was great. The feeling is like a feeling that I will never return. It’s a feeling that no one will ever feel, “Taylor said.

“We went in and called a long -lasting friend, a long -lasting ex -school parent who owns a towing company, and they were able to give and bless a car and pay for tax property and license,” said Popula.
Taylor is now embarking on school in his new riding.
“I’m going to unfold the horns so everyone goes out and seeing me,” Taylor said.
This is a blessing and a new road on the way to his future.
“Thank you all. I want to say thank God for giving me this opportunity, which is very influential for me. And I will make sure that this will not go unnoticed, “Taylor said.
After graduating in May, Taylor said he plans to pursue the career path or in the law or in nursing.
