AMD Radeon Drivers Guel Specialization of New Valve Console – Gizmodo

As much as we like our decks, rumors continue to hint a valve, they can work on something with more graphic juice to process to play games away from our computers. Rumormongers has swelled over hints that Valve is working on drivers for the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 9070 Graphics card -based of RDNA 4 infrastructure. Although there may be constant support for Steamos, people online cannot stop speculating on the supposed console “Fremont”.

Rafa, the owner of the Spanish-language hand-focused blog Handledeck, first reported (via WCCFTech) about internal files that indicate that some engineers test drivers for RDNA 4. This is not much to continue, although RAFA is posting on Twitter that OPEN Open drivers for the RX 9070 may be some “low -cost ultra -of -power desktop, EGPU for deck 2, or support for OEM manufacturers.” New Radeon graphics processors are confirmed only for desktops, which helps to fuel refueling from colleagues and Leaks, this is somehow related to the still unconfirmed Fremont steam console.

Everything related to Valve’s work on graphic drivers is pure speculation. The Handledeck blogger wrote at the beginning of Tuesday (read by machine translation) that speculation is “only my opinion” and that drivers may be a means of adding more OEM support for Steamos. In CES this year Valve and Lenovo joined to show Steamos on Lenovo Legion Go S. This is manually moving on a specialized AMD APU, Ryzen Z2 Go on Zen 3. The Razer Remote Game is based on existing open source software Moonlight and Sunshine (Razer said his own customer and host software are also open code).

During the CES, Valve wires on Steam Deck’s development spoke with Gizmodo. They said they wanted to help press Steamos on other platforms other than Valve owned. This includes providing a “checked for deck” certificate for devices that do not use the Steam Deck Zen 2 AMD processor. The company is still Cagey for every alleged Steam Peck 2. The repeated valves are repeated, wanting a real jump in graphic hardware before offering another manual.

However, there is increasing evidence that Valve wants Steamos to be a true alternative to Windows for PC Gaming. Steamos is based on Linux but uses Proton Layer to significantly improve Windows -based games compatibility. The Steamdb database code shows that Valve has also tested ARM64 support in Proton, which can allow gamers to play incompatible computer titles that include chips such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series.

The current steam deck does not have a Thunderbolt USB-C port, so it cannot support the native data transmission required for EGPU. This does not mean that it is impossible to connect EGPU to a steam deck if you use Oculink instead. These types of settings require more hardware knowledge than the typical steam deck owner may have. If Valve is considering any specialized EGPU dock, this can be a completely new change of game for easy games to turn on and play.

These steam deck hardware restrictions mean that a separate console is more likely if you want to believe rumors and speculation. We still have no clear idea of what kind of chip valve it will go, although it will probably be another personalized AMD chip. In the meantime, if you really want to think about what a steam console would look like, you can look at mods like a steam brick. This device simply inside the deck is shrunk into a 3D printed box with one USB-C port and a power button. Although smaller than a steam deck, this is not added much to the experience.

Players have shown that they want easy, comfortable play options for their entire Steam library without suffering through Windows. The manual market is still in its relative early childhood. I would enjoy a full dock combined with EGPU to completely replace my desktop. Until this dream comes true, my life for games will be segmented between my console, a game laptop and Steam Deck.
